HOW I WORK

Therapy with me is
thoughtful, collaborative,
and practical.

Together, we'll work to understand the patterns that keep you stuck — not just the symptoms you're experiencing. Rather than simply helping you feel better in difficult moments, my goal is to help you respond differently to them. We'll slow things down, identify what's driving your thoughts and emotions, challenge the stories that no longer serve you, and build habits that move you toward the life you actually want to live. Along the way, you'll leave sessions with not only greater insight, but practical tools you can begin using immediately.

I'd describe myself as a highly collaborative, insight-oriented CBT/ACT therapist with a strong attachment and values-based framework. In practice, that means helping you relate differently to your emotions and reconnect with your values, rather than just managing symptoms as they come up.

WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE

Three threads that run through
our work

Finding what's underneath the feeling

A lot of what we do together comes down to identifying the unmet need underneath a feeling. Translating emotions into needs tends to create insight much faster than staying at the surface — it's the difference between managing a feeling and actually understanding what it's asking for.

Practical, not just insightful

I care about giving you practical skills — tools you can actually remember and use, not just concepts you nod along to in the room. My approach is both process-oriented and skills-oriented: identifying the cognitive themes that show up again and again for you, while also helping you regain a sense of agency in your day-to-day life.

Moving from reactive to intentional

Much of this work is about helping you move from automatic reactions toward intentional choices — living according to your values rather than your anxiety, and moving through life more intentionally instead of more reactively. The goal isn't symptom elimination. It's psychological flexibility: the ability to feel what you feel without being run by it, and to keep moving toward what matters to you anyway.

IN THE ROOM

Validation, with gentle
challenge.

Throughout, I aim to balance validation with gentle challenge — honoring what you're going through, while also helping you move toward action.

This work isn't just about solving problems as they come up. It's about helping you build a different relationship with yourself, one that lasts well beyond our sessions together.

Who this tends to fit

This approach tends to work especially well for people with high insight who want practical tools alongside deeper understanding — not just one or the other.
